What We Do
Three interconnected pillars: experience shapes how you're encountered, cultural strategy defines what you stand for and gives it complete visual and verbal form, and creative futures extends that same thinking to the next generation of practitioners building their own path. Each can stand alone, or combine under one point of contact.
We shape the whole experience, not just the live moment within it.
From the idea to its identity — built to be lived, not laminated.
Mentorship for the next generation of creative practitioners.

Where Singapore's next creative voices take shape.
We shape the whole experience, not just the live moment within it.
From institutional commissions to private celebrations, we assemble the talent, atmosphere and detail that make an encounter with your brand unmistakably considered — on stage and around it. One deck, one point of contact, whether the occasion is a corporate gala or a private wedding.
Ways to Work Together
Bring one of 271's existing artistic worlds into your event.Owned IP, ready to stage — you're commissioning access to a body of work 271 has already created, adapted to your occasion.
An original performance or cultural work, created specifically for your brief.New concept, repertoire, performers and staging — drawing on 271's artistic capabilities, built outward from your commission.
The right programme of talent, performance and cultural moments, built around an event that already exists.271 acts as creative entertainment director — curating from our artist network and standards, not designing the occasion itself.
The concept, programme and guest journey of the experience, shaped from the ground up.271 owns the creative direction — narrative, performance, transitions, spatial and sensory moments — without necessarily owning the logistics.
One creative partner, from first concept through to final execution.271's deepest mandate — concept, programming, talent, production partners, logistics, rehearsals and on-site execution, held under one roof.

Tell us the occasion, and we'll take it from there.
From the idea to its identity — built to be lived, not laminated.
We help clarify what you're building, for whom, and why it matters — then carry that thinking through to positioning, story and visual language, shaping a culture from the inside for the people who carry it, not only the audience who encounters it.
Ways to Work Together
A short, focused engagement — brand audit, positioning statement, core narrative. The entry point if you're not yet ready for a full build.
A comprehensive build — positioning, narrative and visual identity, carried through to complete presentation materials.
A culture add-on for HR and People teams — aligning how your people experience your culture with how your brand presents itself to the world.
Ongoing counsel for founders past the initial build — narrative refinement, launch support, and strategic input as it's needed.
Corporate Experience Design is documented separately as its own brief — ask us for it alongside any Cultural Strategy conversation.

Selected Work
Three engagements, presented as they were conceived — not as a uniform grid.
The Founder
Calista Liaw is a Singapore-based Erhu artist, creative director and multidisciplinary practitioner. Her work moves between music, performance, fashion and contemporary Chinese identity, and shapes the thinking behind 271 Collective. She founded the collective on the same instinct that drives her stage work — that a strong idea deserves to be built, directed and carried through, in whatever form it demands.
Redefining tradition into a dialogue between eras.
Calista began Erhu training at eight, under Li Bao Shun of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, and graduated from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. From there, her practice expanded from performance into original composition and multidisciplinary production.
Her work treats Chinese music, philosophy and symbolism as a living language rather than an archive. The Art of War translated Sun Tzu's writing through sound and movement; REBIRTH reimagined the zodiac as narrative. Heritage, reinterpreted rather than repeated.
Calista conceives ideas that move across disciplines — music, movement, fashion, narrative and visual expression — then directs them through, from concept to final execution. That same process, and the mentors who once guided her through it, now shape how she guides the next generation of creative practitioners.
